Premjit Lall Invitational was conceptualised by the tennis legend, Jaidip Mukerjea in the fond memory of his match partner and dear friend, Premjit Lall. The tournament had its inaugural edition in 2016 and since then, it has become one of the talked about tournaments wherein India’s star players participate every year.


Central Excise All India Men’s Tennis Tournament

Recently, the Central Excise All India Men’s Tennis Tournament was held and the crowd enjoyed the game on the lush green grass courts of Central Excise with great support and enthusiasm. Many distinguished guests and tennis personalities were present to see top players in action.


TENNIS MASTERS 2015

JMTA recently organised TENNIS MASTERS 2015 supported by Sports Dept. Govt. of West Bengal in Nov 2015. The mega event witnessed the legendary team of Martina Navratilova & Leander Paes taking on the team of Mahesh Bhupathi & Sania Mirza in Kolkata. click here.


Upcoming Talent – Sohini Chatterjee

Six months back Jaidip Mukerjea saw a little girl practising tennis in the Academy. He asked Sharmin Mukerjea to call her parents and tell them to take tennis seriously for her. Today, the little girl became Runners-Up of the Under-8 years category state-level tennis tournament in Kolkata. Her name is Sohini Chatterjee.


Under 12 Runner up

Ruhika Mandal became under 12 runners up state ranking tennis tournament.


The inagural India- Bhutan invitation Friendship tennis Championship 25th – 31st May, 2015

The inagural India-Bhutan invitation Friendship tennis Championship took place in Thimpu Bhutan from 25th may to 31st may 2015. This was the first time that an international tournament took place in Bhutan. Ranked players from the neighboring states such as West Bengal, Assam, Sikkim Nagaland and Meghalaya were invited to participate in this tournament. The tournament generated great interest and popularized tennis in Bhutan and North East India. North East India has produced many top class athletes and I am sure very soon a top class player will emerge from this part of the world.

The tournament has been jointly organised by The Bhutan tennis Federation and Jaidip Mukerjea tennis Academy.

The events were:

1. Men’s Singles and Doubles
2. Veteran Singles
3. Women’s Singles


Khelguru Award 2015

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on behalf of West Bengal Government honored Jaidip Mukerjea as ‘ KHELGURU ’ for his contribution to Tennis, as a player and coach.


Tony Roche Tennis Camp December, 2014

Tony Roche, the former French Open Champion and legendary coach having had the experience of coaching World Champions like Rodger Fedrer and Ivan Lendl was in JMTA from 1st to 7th December, 2014.During his presence he conducted an intensive camp for the members of the Indian Davis Cup Team, which also saw Somdev Burman (the highest ranked Indian Player in the International Circuit) participating.

On 2nd December,2014 an exhibition match was held for the media and dignitaries where our own Jaidip Mukerjea was seen playing against Roche along with Somdev Burman. The match was followed by an inter-active session with the press, a pavilion named “Tony Roche Pavilion” erected at JMTA to honor his presence was also inaugurated by him.

On the last day of his stay, he also gave valuable tips to some advanced level players of JMTA.

JMTA Women’s Tennis Championship 2014

JMTA Women’s Tennis Championship 2014 will be held at JMTA from 10th – 15th March, 2014. This tournament is sanctioned by the All India Tennis Association and Carries valuable ranking points. The tournament carries a prize money of Rs. 3.5 lakhs which is the highest prize money Tennis Tournament for Women in Eastern India. All the top ranking players of India will be taking part. Final of the tournament will be held on 15th March, 2014 from 3.00 p.m. onwards. Mr. Shekar Dutt, Hon’ble Governor of Chhattisgarh has kindly consented to be the Chief Guest at the final. Mr. Satyajeet Burman is the Tournament Director.
